The world has become an expensive place, so we need to budget our leisure-related activities. First date. First meal.

Sometimes a breakfast date is the best way to get to know someone. It’s cheaper too. You can see how they carry themselves in the morning and if it aligns with your daily routine. If you’re not a morning person, just remember there are pancakes and bacon on the menu.

Garden path

When you have friends from out of town visiting you, it’s a common suggestion to walk around parks or gardens in the area. It’s a lovely way to interact with someone while being in nature. Grab a cup of coffee when you're done to end ut off.

Score!

Can you smell the hotdogs? If you’re nervous about maintaining a conversation on the date, then a local sports game is a great way to get to know someone. You'll have something to talk about and have an excuse to have a cold beer before 12.

Apple picking

The fear of sitting in a booth with your date and your both just staring at your phones is not a concern when you’re out on a farm picking fruit in season. Partaking in activities on a sunny day is a great way to get comfortable and open up with the person you’re on the date with. Plus, however, the date ends – you have some fresh fruit waiting for you.

Just in it for the laugh

Some people simply desire someone who can make them laugh, all the time. Perhaps a date at a stand-up comedy show can see what sort of humor your date relates with. Shared humor is one of the key elements in a great relationship.

You are never too old for the arcade

If you saw an air hockey table, it doesn’t matter if your 14 or 50 – you are going to want to play. There is something about the flashy lights with this electric atmosphere of adrenaline-fueled warriors racing for tickets and rewards. Grab a beer and play some games, you can always just walk around and take in the absolute joy games give people. If the arcade's idea does not tickle your fancy, a bottle of wine and a game of backgammon under the stars with Jazz playing the background is full proof.    Stepping out the box and putting in that extra effort comes with a lot of rewards. You might even just learn something about yourself!
