Actress and musician Jada Pinkett Smith is known for being outspoken on her Facebook Watch series, Red Table Talk and we can only expect the same bluntness on her Instagram account. Her way of expression is a testament to her honesty and her passion for speaking her heart and mind.
The revelatory video is about her mistake in prioritizing romance and allowing her ego be unassessed during her marriage of more than two decades to Will Smith.
Jada revealed in the short video that she had an epiphany. “I had to call Will and say, ‘You know what? I have to thank you for enduring my rage.’ It made me realize how durable love must be because we don’t have all the answers at the beginning. We go through life and we get the answers as we go, and we can break things as we’re finding the answer.” At one point, my romantic love was all that mattered.
The iconic Hollywood couple got married on New Year’s Eve in 1997, and have openly discussed in public the triumphs and failures of their marriage. For one, they discussed about their “horrible” wedding day and the “poisonous” features of their relationship on Red Table Talk in October.
But recently, the Girls Trip star is clarifying on why she doesn’t believe love and romance should be given utmost importance. “I realized how unmet standards of romantic love often justified it to turn into a cold heart that many times can fuel hateful and brutal actions of revenge and manipulation towards someone you say or said you loved,” she captioned the video on Instagram.
“It actually may be the only form of love you can fall OUT of.” Such realizations have helped better her marriage by focusing more on nurturing a deep friendship with Will. Keep doing you, Jada Pinkett Smith. You just fed our #MondayMotivation about marriage, love and friendship.
