Getting the landscape looking its best can be a tough job, especially if you don’t have the right tools. But, a few hard workers are always ready to devise a workaround. Don’t have a hedge trimmer? No problem. Just Loop some supportive cables under the chassis of a riding mower – keeping well away from the rotors, of course – and start moving.
Depending on the setup, this might even be faster than the traditional way to get perfectly manicured hedges. It also means schlepping fewer tools, but you’re definitely going to get some strange looks if you do this in a suburb or a more populated area.
Can I Park Here?
Tractors are not useful in the slightest when they manage to get INSIDE the house, such as in this picture. When you were young, you might have had a thought to, for instance, smash through the wall of your sister's dollhouse, but once you're behind the wheel of a real tractor, you can't have the idea to take it anywhere near the farmhouse.
Really, unless the wall is made of steel beams and concrete, in the battle between tractor and wall, the tractor is going to win. You can bet your bottom dollar on that. Talk about breaking and entering, right?
Gotta Stay Grounded When You're in a Tractor
When you're controlling a tractor, you must ensure that you know exactly what you are doing at all times. The person who was using this tractor must not have been paying attention since we can see in the picture that a huge, likely very important electrical pylon is now lying over the tractor.
It's also probably destroying the piece of farming equipment it was hauling. How many people or businesses lost power because of this? We really hope that the farm responsible for this mistake had pretty good insurance. Otherwise, they'll have more to worry about than damage to their tractor.
The Rare and Mysterious Beach Tractor
Go to a farm, and you're going to see a tractor. Go to a construction site, and you're going to see a tractor. But a beach? That's not where these majestic beasts often appear, so we're happy to present a picture of one of these uncommon creatures.
We don't know why someone would take a tractor out to the beach and the water since a big heavy machine like that could easily get stuck, especially if it's hauling a trailer. Maybe it was taking floaties to those in need, or maybe this person was getting ready to make some bank by selling popsicles to people heated after a day in the sun.
How Long Did This Take?
Despite being called heavy machinery, tractors have their own special climbing abilities. Did you know that? If you're talented enough with your tractor, you can do all sorts of things in order to get a cool picture. In fact, we aren't sure if this was intentional or not – how could it not be?
The backhoe is in the perfect bracing location, the front scoop hoists the body off the ground, and the feet are out to either side to keep it balanced. We're going to have to say that this was on purpose. The greater question is why. Other than for the cool picture. Which is admittedly very cool.
The Grill Is Ready
Engines can get pretty hot if the conditions are right. Using such big machines on hot summer days trying to get your work done will, sometimes, result in something similar to this picture. It's a good thing the driver jumped out. Otherwise, we wouldn't have this sweet pic, which we expect has already made it onto the cover of a southern rock album.
We do hope that right after the driver took a picture, fire trucks rolled up, and fire suppression tactics went into effect. Gotta protect your investments, and tractors are a huge investment, even a comparatively little one like that.
What Do You Mean “I'm Stuck Too?”
Not one, not two, but THREE tractors all seem to be stuck in the mud here. There's yet another machine, mostly off-screen, that is trying to dig them out, and most likely, the driver is being careful not to get too close. This is the kind of thing that farmers have to deal with sometimes – after the rain; those fields can turn from hard-packed dirt into mud that will get you stuck for hours.
This can turn what was supposed to be a productive day into one that's full of frustrations. We hope that these three were all the tractors that got stuck that day. Otherwise, they'll have to call in the Air Force to yank those machines out.
Stuck on the Stairs
Stairs really aren't for everybody. Specifically, they aren't for people who think they can get a tractor down them and around a mid-flight corner. Maybe if it was a straight-to-the-ground staircase, then it could have been done, but this clearly isn't.
We don't even want to THINK about how hard it was for this thing to get unstuck – though shouldn't those responsible just have been able to put it in reverse and go back up the steps? Maybe the way the tractor is wedged makes it impossible, or maybe it just doesn't have enough juice to back up a grade.
Deep Water
When someone is in deep water, it means they're in a heap of trouble, and there's no easy way for them to get out. Well, now you can imagine the genesis of the phrase. The two bystanders are unable to do anything other than hunkering down on the bank and watching their machine sink.
How does one even go about getting such a heavy piece of machinery out of what appears to be a river or at least a deep pond? If they're lucky, it won't sink any deeper, but even then, what do you do? You can't use another tractor to dig it out – then you would have two tractors in trouble.
Getting Things Clean
There's no oopsie here, but there is a fun bit of history. What you're looking at is an old version of a street cleaner. Before we had the big contraptions that rinse, soap, and scrub the streets, some places used tractors with a big, whirling collection of brooms set up on the back to brush the street clean of dust and debris.
No doubt the streets didn't stay all that clean, but it's just like vacuuming – feels good to do, even if it doesn't last long. Based on how fast it looks like those brushes are going, we hope everybody knew not to be standing on the right side of the street, or they were going to get a face full of road.
How Does This Keep Happening?
Tractors are big, and they're heavy, and yet SOMEHOW, people are still finding ways to get them upside-down. You have to have very specific knowledge and skill to drive them, so you'd think that those in control would know how to keep them in control. Of course, there is always the possibility that the person behind the wheel was NOT in control.
But the person responsible here was going fast enough to get this tractor with its nose buried in the dirt. Is the driver still in there? No, likely not – there would probably be many more people milling around, as well as emergency personnel.
Fishing a Tractor
After a long day of working in the fields, there's nothing like hitting the lake for some relaxing fishing. Of course, you have to make sure you're actually done working first, unlike whoever was in charge here. In actuality, it seems that someone wasn't aware that the local watering hole was getting so close and couldn't slow down in time to avoid it.
Don't worry – there's another tractor on the scene, and it looks like it's in the process of pulling the unfortunate machine out of the water. Remember, even if you aren't driving on the roads, always be aware of what's around you – it will make everybody's life much easier.
Untangle the Tractors
Look at all those huge tires. A tractor needs plenty of traction (that's where tractors get their name from) to haul heavy items like cultivators or plows, but even all those wheels don't do a thing to help when they leave the ground and fall into a pond.
How exactly everything landed the way it did is a mystery to us. Also a mystery to us is how the people standing at the edge of the picture are going to get it out. It looks like they could drive it out from what little we see of the pond, but with the wheels stuck, it's just not that simple.
That's Not Where a Tractor Goes
We aren't tractor experts, but even we can pick out a few problems here. What were they trying to plant down there, do you think? Seaweed? That's not even a sea. It feels like we shouldn't be the ones to have to point it out here, but tractors work best on flat land, not forty-five-degree grades straight into a creek.
At the very least, it seems like this one will be a little easier to pull out – as long as they can attach another tractor to the back of the plowing device the first tractor was pulling. Again, we aren't tractor experts, so maybe that's not the way they go about it in these situations, but it's better than some other ones we've seen.
My Metal Detector Is Going Off
This one is truly a mystery. The ground around it, while not the firmest we've ever seen, doesn't seem like wet, sucking mud. And yet, there is still a tractor stuck in it up to its wheels in the dirt. Even worse, now it looks like the mud is fully dry, so pulling it out will be even more difficult.
Have you ever tried to pull a little tree out of the ground without digging out the roots first? It's like that, except this 'tree' is made of metal and much heavier, and it's bigger, and it doesn't have roots. This analogy got away from us.
Tractor-Skating
Going skating is usually something fun, even if you aren't a pro at it. We feel bad for tractors, then, since they're far too heavy to ever go out safely on anything other than the thickest ice. They can only stare enviously at their Zamboni relatives.
This tractor must not have gotten the memo. The ice looks far too thin to support such an immense amount of weight. What was it even doing out there, anyway? There isn't even any snow to clear off the ice so that humans can enjoy their winter sports. Slipping is never fun, especially if you're doing it on a tractor.
They'll Never Know
We had to check Google quickly, but no. BMW has never made a tractor, and there is really no reason for them to start now. The owner of this tractor, however, wanted to let people know that he had no need for a high-class automobile to get his important work done.
His tractor is just as good as a real 740i, which is a full-size luxury sedan from the BMW line. While making your vehicle look like a different kind of car is gauche, we don't think anybody will raise a stink here. In fact, they're more likely to laugh.
What Does a Tractor Dream Of?
Lots of people dream of leaving the surly bonds of Earth behind and soaring through the air like a bird. People, animals, heck, even some bird species dream of it. But what about tractors? We think we know. This cute little guy has achieved liftoff – all four wheels in the air.
Yes, even if only for a brief moment, this tractor got to live the dream. No doubt, the driver hits the bump with as much speed as possible every day. Somebody call Vin Diesel; this little blue guy is definitely gold material for the next "Fast & Furious" movie!
Failed Construction
A lot of tractors, especially those that work in construction, have a single job: make a hole. Somehow, the tractor that is in the foreground of this picture got its marching orders all mixed around and has instead placed itself in a hole. Everyone is confused.
We are confused, the controller of the tractor is confused, as are all the people who watched the tractor accomplish this spectacular feat. Feel free to chime in if this is also a confusing picture for you. It's a good thing there's another machine right there to help dig it out. Under construction? More like under destruction!
A Strange Buried Treasure
There are lots of secrets hidden under the ocean waves. Apparently, one of those secrets is an entire backhoe or at least part of it. This beach is too cool for seashells; it has the scoop of a backhoe sticking out of the edge of the surf into the sand.
The interesting detail is that the lower half of the arm is all rusted over, but the back half looks fine. We know that salty sea air keeps metal looking better for longer – that's why you'll see so many classic cars in Cali – but this is just strange.
Was I Speeding?
We all know how much trouble and time it takes to pack up all your stuff to move out of your old home into a new one. Renting movers or a truck will cost a pretty penny, which is why this guy decided to tie everything to the back of his tractor and head on down the road.
Of course, doing so is quite dangerous, even at the slowest of speeds, which is why the local police had him stopped. The deputy is explaining that no, you can't tie a couch to the back of your tractor and fill it with steel casks, no matter how much fun it would be.
When Your Mom Embarrasses You
A high percentage of the pictures on this list are unintentional. (And also probably cost an arm and a leg to the vehicle owners.) Tractors under things, or in things, or upside-down, or stuck somewhere they shouldn't be. But a few of them are like this picture – totally on purpose.
With one toy tractor and one real tractor, the people who own this little parcel of land set up a funny scene. It's a mama tractor trying to reach up the tree trunk for its spry young one, but tractors aren't known for their climbing abilities. She might need some help.
Haven't We Learned Anything?
By now, we should all know that it isn't the smartest idea to keep a tractor – or any other big machine – next to a body of water. It's just asking for trouble. Here is a good example. The worker is posing next to his buried machine.
Just a day before, this piece of heavy machinery was above ground. And then, overnight, a tidal wave hit. So, maybe we can forgive this oops. Tidal waves aren't exactly something you can plan for, and even if you do have enough knowledge, risking your life for a backhoe isn't worth it.
What Kind of Market Is This Guy Going to?
What, uh, what does this guy sell? With a few old gals packed into the cage he is towing, no doubt he gets a bunch of odd looks whenever he goes out on the road, and the local police force is probably well-acquainted with him.
Of course, the easy explanation is they're just on their way to the market, which is the best way for his gals to get there. He always offers to let them ride up there with him, but they'd rather sit in the cage. “Makes us the center of attention,” they say. Well, it's up to them.
She's Very Important
When this guy wants to hit the road, he's always got a wingman. A wing woman, technically, but that's splitting hairs and we aren't here to nitpick. A slightly closer look reveals that one of the tractor's front wheels is missing entirely, so if this guy ever wants to go out, his wife has to accompany him, or he isn't going anywhere.
Most likely, there's a different vehicle they use when they want to go anywhere with any amount of safety or speed. This tractor is for when they want to show off. A relationship is all about balance, but usually not literally.
Like a Cartoon
Breaking down in the middle of the road is annoying and embarrassing, but we doubt that you have ever had a breakdown as bad as this guy has. I mean, look at this! The back tire has fallen off the wheel and the front wheel has broken off entirely.
There is a random pipe on the ground in front – we don't even know where that one came from. This is like Daffy Duck jumping into a tractor to try and chase down Bugs Bunny or something, and every single part of the tractor falls off before he goes ten feet.
We Have Several Questions
Did ferrets attack this tractor while it was in the field? It looks like each individual part of this machine has fallen apart at the same time! Can something like this even be fixed? This is like when you bring your phone into the shop, and they say it would be cheaper to buy a new one – which we're convinced is just a lie to get you to buy a new phone.
But still, look at this thing. Wheels and tires busted, panels destroyed, chassis bent... so much of it has been messed up. Maybe a bad hailstorm – like REALLY bad – went through. Or a tornado. Or a volcanic eruption.
Party on the Tractor
Contrary to what you were told, tractors aren't just for hard work. As we can see here, sometimes they're the right place for a little bit of fun! The driver is popping a wheelie while his friends bounce around on the back, enjoying themselves. Are they doing it for a specific purpose?
Does it keep the trailer from tipping over or something like that? Maybe they're trying to pack down the contents of the trailer to make sure they don't shift around during transportation. Or, maybe they've been working hard in the field and want a chance to dance around.
Just Married
Every happy couple wants to ensure their special day is unique and memorable. Something that is truly them. Some have destination weddings, some have famous bridesmaids, and some keep it close to home, as this picture shows us. The bride can feel like a queen on her chariot while the husband (we are assuming) carries her toward the altar.
Plus, if a family already owned this tractor, it might have saved the wedding party a hefty chunk of change. One downside – a dirty piece of machinery and a brilliant white wedding dress don't exactly mix well. They look acquainted with dirty work but not in their special Sunday best.
Something... Has Happened
Okay, we figured it out. Let's go piece by piece. First, there's the tractor, or what's left of it. The cab and back wheels are looking okay, but the entire front of the tractor has been torn to shreds in an entirely unrecognizable manner. In the center is a set of train tracks. On the right side is a train on another set of tracks.
Able to piece things together yet? Tractors don't move very fast – if they get stuck on a train track, then they're pretty much out of luck. Such is what happened here. We can only hope that the driver could get away before anything happened.
The Mod Squad
Customizing your ride is a common thing to do. Whether it's for a specific purpose, because you like to showboat, or it's just something you can do with your hands when you have some free time, plenty of people do it. Of course, most modifications aren't like this little tractor, which at first glance looks like a grill.
They've jacked up the undercarriage and added some bigger wheels – and look! It's for sale! For what is almost certainly a low, low price, you can be the proud owner of this Frankensteined vehicle. The real question is... what will you do to make it even better?
Necessity Is the Mother of Invention
Getting the landscape looking its best can be a tough job, especially if you don't have the right tools. But, a few hard workers are always ready to devise a workaround. Don't have a hedge trimmer? No problem. Just Loop some supportive cables under the chassis of a riding mower – keeping well away from the rotors, of course – and start moving.
Depending on the setup, this might even be faster than the traditional way to get perfectly manicured hedges. It also means schlepping fewer tools, but you're definitely going to get some strange looks if you do this in a suburb or a more populated area.
When You Want to Get Your Work DONE
Fields to plow? Grain to carry? Anything else to do around the farm? Consider it done when this tractor starts up. In actuality, this is a racing tractor, and we hope it wins because otherwise, SOMETHING will get destroyed.
Look at those three huge exhausts! How much horsepower does this thing have? Thousands, maybe? This tractor is ready to start its engines and bring home the trophy. Don't worry about safety; there's a roll bar. We've finally figured it out. Any time a tractor gets stuck in the mud or a lake, this is the machine that they roll out to free the first.
We Believe This Is Called Irony
Tractors do a lot more than make sure fields are properly plowed. In places with a lot of snowfall, these heavy machines pull plenty of duty clearing roads so that people can get to and from work without getting stuck or sliding the whole way there.
Of course, some storms even catch tractors unaware. This one might not have been clearing highways, but even a parking lot can become a big issue if there's enough snow in the way. Thankfully, tractors are built to deal with things like this – as long as it can start, it can probably get out of there.
The One Place Tractors Can't Go
Tractors are the kinds of the field, the construction site, and plenty of other places, but even they shouldn't go everywhere. One of those places is deep water, a sea or ocean, for instance. We're sure this guy had a good reason to take his tractor for a swim, but we can't see it in this picture.
Still, as long as he has some solid ground, he's not stuck just yet. Solid ground under the water is a little harder to find than on dry land, but it doesn't look like he's in any trouble if his friend's stance is any indication.
I Think I Need More Rope
Look, guys, I'm pulling as hard as I can, but I don't think I will be able to get it out of here. I'm not even wearing any pants. Everybody knows you need pants for this kind of job. We don't know why this tractor decided to take a swim, but it's in the middle of a lake now, and getting it out is more than a one-man job.
We just noticed that the rope he's holding isn't even attached to the tractor, so this one might just be stuck. It can't be stuck that badly if the guy is only up to his knees.
Popping Wheelies
While it looks like these young kids are having the time of their lives showing off to each other in their whips, that is not the case. If you look in the back, you can see plenty of people working hard to try and get these vehicles unstuck from the mud. Tractors are made to handle plenty of surfaces, but even they have their limits.
This picture comes to us from India, which means these people could be working on farming for themselves and their families. They even had to conscript another tractor to give themselves a fighting chance at success.
One Is the Loneliest Number
While seeing this lost and lonely piece of machinery might bring a tear to your sensitive eye, there's no need to cry. This is one of the many tractors that crab fishermen at Cromer Beach in North Norfolk, United Kingdom, use to launch their boats.
The owner of this colorful tractor is somewhere out on the water, collecting nets full of little pinchers until he comes back to the tractor to head home with his catch. It might look a little sad, but this tractor is helping to get some important work done – putting food on the family table.
I Have to Go Shopping Somehow
If you live somewhere with heavy rain or snowfall, you've probably gone out to your car to find the roads impassable once or twice. Maybe you struggled through it, or maybe you gave up and called into work, saying you couldn't make it. Here we see something similar at Mount Sorrel, Leicestershire, United Kingdom.
Heavy rain and flooding made the roads difficult for normal cars, but a tractor isn't a normal car, now is it? It's not a car at all, now that we think about it. This is why, even when the road has been washed out, it has no trouble getting to the store.
The Tractor Was the Best Man
Every couple wants to do something special for their big day, but most of them end up sitting in a field of wildflowers holding small chalkboards and giving each other big, happy smiles. These two, however, decided to do something a little more unique. They found a tractor, loaded themselves into the front scoop, and carefully raised it off the ground.
Once the driver had vacated the shot, they were left with a great angle to kick off their happily ever after. This looks a little frightening, but from the angle of the ground under the scoop, it looks like they aren't really too far up – just some camera tricks at work.
The Right Way to Start Life Together
After leaving the chapel or reception hall, most new couples choose to get into a refurbished classic car, a low-rider, or something like that. Not these two people. Oh no. Instead, they've chosen to take the trip from the ceremony to the reception by some rear tractor compartment.
They are weaving through the lanes of a Devon village, so we bet the rules are a little less enforced, especially on such a happy occasion. Just... don't drive very quickly, okay? And make sure everybody holds on tight back there. Even if you are being careful, there can still be mishaps.
Good and Stuck
This list has many tractors in unfortunate positions, but it's hard to get more unfortunate than buried. The front wheels are almost totally hidden, and the back wheels have also sunk a lot. Even the blade in the front will need some help getting out of the dirt and mud.
It's no wonder no people are working to get this machine unstuck – you probably need a couple of other tractors to get it loose. Such a shame, too. It's such a bright, pretty red color. It seems really clean, besides the fact that it's buried up to the engine.
It Happens to Everybody at Least Once
It seems that not even farmers in Thailand are safe from their tractors getting stuck in the mud. This group has an extra waiting in the wings, so at least they are not totally sunk. But our heart still goes out to the hard-working farmers all around the world who have to lose an entire day getting their tractors unstuck.
From the cornfields of Iowa to whatever is being planted in the field in this picture, nobody is safe from the sucking grasp of Mother Earth. No doubt any farmer is well-acquainted with this issue and knows exactly what to do.
Emptying the Sea One Scoop at a Time
Like a grown-up version of trying to empty out the lake with a small pail at the beach, this driver seems to be fighting a losing battle against this water. Of course, we don't really know what he's doing – he could be grabbing for a scoop of some nice, soft mud. For some reason.
We're told that this tractor didn't get stuck, but that still leaves the question unanswered as to why this big yellow monster is wading into the water. Maybe it's a really, really difficult form of fishing for those expert anglers who really need a challenge.
Like a Pig in Summer
When we're kids, being able to take a roll in the mud is a rare pleasure. Most people don't do it all that often as adults, but it looks like it isn't just animals that enjoy getting dirty every once in a while. While it looks like this yellow tractor is wallowing in the mud, it's probably that the tractor is good and stuck.
Amazingly, even a tractor with such intense treads is able to get stuck in the mud, but we imagine there's enough mud in the world to get almost anything stuck. There's no other mud on the entire field, but enough is enough.
Keep the Rubber Side Down
A little bit of parental advice tells us that the wheels stay on the road, but it seems like someone didn't pay close enough attention during tractor school. Clearly, everybody can see the problem, but why exactly did the problem take place? That is a very good question.
It seems that the brakes on the trailer failed, resulting in, somehow, a pair of tractors crashing into each other. There's another tractor a hundred feet away, tipped over on its side in the middle of a field because of this accident. Thankfully, both drivers escaped with nothing more than minor injuries. Oh, also, one of the tractors snapped in half.
Irony Is Best Served Cold
You feel a little bad for this tractor. It's just trying to clear out some winter weather off the streets, and then a wheel goes and snaps off. Thus, it's waiting for help to get towed to the shop. We don't think this is actually ironic – that would be like if this snow-clearing tractor was buried after a snowstorm.
Or a firetruck is on fire. Still, we aren't going to go on record saying this isn't sad – the little guy looks so forlorn. It was just trying to give people a clear path to walk or drive, and even that hasn't worked out.
A Little Bit Overpowered
Tractors haul and tractors push, and sometimes they're just there to get you through the day, but it looks like that's not the only thing they can do. We are happy to report that they're also capable of scooting along an empty street during a Fourth of July parade while dragging a tiny dog in a tiny wagon behind them.
Now obviously, this dog doesn't need all that torque to make his appointed rounds, but this is a classic example of comedy – a juxtaposition of something huge and powerful being used to do something small and light. The dog even has a little umbrella. Adorable.
I Have Six More Acres to Do Today
Dogs sitting in tractors seem like the kind of pictures that would be in the home of someone who doesn't farm, but they used to, or their parents or grandparents did, or something like that. Does this dog truly understand that the tractor is controlled from that spot?
Is he just keeping the seat warm until an overweight guy in a checkered work shirt and a green John Deere hat returns? Or maybe this hound is just getting in a quick snapshot before it starts the tractor back up to get to work. Those alfalfa sprouts aren't going to cultivate themselves.
Yo Dawg, We Heard You Like to Get Stuck in the Snow
As long as you live in a place with enough snowfall, you have probably gotten stuck in the white stuff at least once. Maybe you were trying to leave the neighborhood to get to work, or maybe you slid off the road into a snowbank.
Maybe you got yourself out, maybe you got some friendly help, or maybe a tractor got you out. But, as we have seen, even tractors can come across snow that is too much for them to handle. If that is the case, you might have to call as many people as possible to get you out.
Would You Believe It?
Despite being half-submerged in mud, we are told that this tractor is NOT stuck, as it might seem. No, this tractor is simply on the way to a wildcat cassiterite mine in Brazil. Maybe they're just jazzed to be able to explore for some cassiterite, but these two look pleased enough to be heading off to work.
It looks like they're doing the adult version of riding on the back of a bud's bicycle on the way to school. Except this might be even more fun because it's on a tractor that has twice as many wheels, and everybody knows that means more fun.
Tractor Cemetery
On stormy nights full of thunder and lightning and dark shadows, even the deepest graves may once again rattle with life! The only way this could be better is if there was a grinning skeleton riding inside the cab.
We don't know why this tractor is buried so deep, but we bet nobody is all that happy about it. However, it seems like it might be there for good – reversing this will take a lot of work, and we think we can see plants growing inside the cab, too. That's a pretty good indication that it's been there for a while.
Locked Down
When transporting heavy machinery, it's important to make sure it won't be going anyway. Use all the security you can to make sure it doesn't slide off the bed and cause any hassle for the people around the truck bed that is hauling it. Then again, we don't think this tractor needs that much security.
In fact, it looks like the owners of that car wouldn't have any trouble fitting it inside with them. But there's nothing like a little bit of fun to get started in the morning. The best part is they might have heard they would be transporting a tractor and actually showed up with this big bed.
Record Scratch
We truly hope nobody was hurt during this... uh, escapade, but we're also in awe of just how bad things must have been for this to happen. A tractor with more wheels than we have pairs of pants is taking a load of something across a bridge, and then, well, this. That fall looks like it's at least thirty feet.
At least the tractor didn't take whatever it was pulling with it. Some might call that a silver lining to a very dark cloud, but if there was a good product in there, the tractor owners might be thanking their lucky stars. Now the question is: How do you get that tractor out?
Showing Off for the Crowd
We might not be able to see much of what is going on in this picture, thanks to how far back we are from the action, but it looks like a ton of fun. Our best guess is that there was a friendly soccer game going on, and somebody drove their tractor onto the pitch.
It's kind of like when a streaker strips down and starts running around on the grass, but way better. If you do this, it's not like security can tackle you. You get free reign of the field to pop wheelies and do whatever else you want.
Stop Taking Up Two Spots!
This picture is a good reminder that tractors can pull off a lot of damage if they're in the hands of someone who doesn't know how to control them. They're huge machines that are built to push or pull heavy things around, made of metal and pistons and tires that are as tall as you are.
If a tractor driver wanted, he or she could make an absolute mess of a parking lot – as we see in this picture. Was this destruction intentional? Is this one of those “tractor driver goes bad” pictures? Or did the driver lose control for just a brief moment, resulting in thousands of dollars of damage?
Mad With Tractor Power
Let's do a little bit of math. No, don't worry, we'll walk you through it, it's simple. Bad driver, plus heavy tractor, plus crowded parking lot, equals what? The answer is this picture right here. We wonder if this driver even cares about all the damage that might be caused by carelessly swerving through a parking lot in something as powerful and heavy as a tractor.
There are a couple of pictures from this event, so we're starting to think this was his intention all along. The poor parkers of this lot have gone on long enough. Someone has to teach them a lesson. Not this one, though.
Can I Get a Hand?
While there are a lot of tractors that are built to take on any surface they're driving on, not all of them can do so. We think this person might have been a little too excited about the possibility of forging through a muddy puddle or a stream in his piece of machinery and didn't actually think about the details of both pieces.
And, now, he's good and stuck, which means he'll probably have to get the help of one or two OTHER tractors to get his ride back on dry land. That'll learn 'im. No, really, now he knows better.
Hey, Look Out
This one makes us worried. Wheels and tires are big, they're heavy, they're solid, and they're super, super dangerous. No, really. If you don't believe us, look up some videos of people running into just normal everyday car wheels on YouTube, and you'll suddenly have a new fear.
Those things will absolutely ruin a car and do plenty of damage to the people inside, too. So when we see a bigger, heavier, and tougher tractor tire skidding toward the camera, we don't want to know what happens next. Hopefully, everybody involved was okay, and we hope the person driving the tractor tightened down all the bolts the next time he went out.
From the Tractor Races
If you don't think tractor races are a thing, then prepare to be delighted. They're held all around the world, in plenty of different countries, and there are many different events for people to participate in and watch. This guy takes a spill coming around a tight corner, but at least he was wearing his helmet and safety gloves.
It's not much of a tractor he's driving, but we guess it counts to some people. Even worse, all those people got to see him fall. However, it looks like he's probably fine, even if there was plenty of opportunity for injury there.
Does Anybody Want to Help Out?
This one is a little confusing; we think you'll agree. There's at least one person just standing in that tractor cab while it's pulling a wheelie, but there might be two. Then there are all the people on the hill, just watching them struggle. Is this something from a tractor competition?
That would make some sense, but why is the tractor like that? Was the hill too steep? It seems like something that this tractor could deal with, but it's not like we're experts. Maybe this was some planned trick to give the audience something to wow at. Or maybe they're stuck in the mud.
Showing Some Wheel
Not every tractor is made equal, as the rest of this list will tell us. Some get stuck a little easier, some flip a little easier, and some need all the help in the world. While this tractor has a nice look to it, anybody will tell you that won't stop it from getting stuck in the mud.
Of course, we don't know if this tractor is actually stuck – it could just be working its way out for all we know. In the meantime, it's giving the crowd a glance at its dirty underbelly in what surely must be a scintillating display.
The Moment of Disaster
We don't know about you, but we're pretty certain that tractor tires don't just... pop off like that. It's not a normal feature for the vehicle, is what we're saying. This lucky snapshot caught the very moment when the huge back wheel of this blue tractor decided to start its solo career, but hopefully, it didn't get very far.
There are enough people near the tractor to have caused some serious damage. Still, it kind of looks like it's flopping over, so hopefully, it did that and then stayed put. At least all the people behind the thin chain link fence were safe.
We Feel Like There's an Easier Way
Ah yes, a tractor towing a tractor that is towing a huge trailer full of... straw, it looks like. Well, we have all had those days when we have loaded up our trailers with too much straw and thought we could make it without help. It's a metaphor, you see.
Even if you think you can handle something, sometimes you just can't. Sometimes, you have to ask somebody for a little bit of help. Not too much. Just enough to keep your front wheels on the ground. So to speak. Then, you can turn around and help the next person.
Where's the Fire?
We're not really sure what the firemen are supposed to do about this, but at least they're willing to help. This list has plenty of examples of tractors that have tipped over onto their sides, but this might be the only one with it fully and entirely flipped upside down. Maybe it's being worked on? Maybe it rolled off a cliff?
That would explain all the little green parts that are scattered around it. We don't even know what those are. They might not even be part of the tractor for all we know. They could be... knee pads for the people working there? Hard to say.
Fancy Meeting You Here
Usually, when a car meets a tractor unkindly, one of those two suffers more damage. On the other hand, we have this picture, which has two vehicles of very different styles plunged off the side of a bridge without a barrier.
We can't think to guess how this happened, but maybe both drivers were trying to avoid a crash, and they just so happened to pitch off the bridge at the same place. You know what? We bet that the tractor and car worked together to remove the barrier. We don't see hide or hair or stone of it, but it might be down there somewhere.
Was Superman Here or Something?
Just like any other man-made machine or construction, a tractor can break. Wheels can come off, gears can strip, or engines can start leaking, but this is a little different. What kind of force on Earth has the power to tear a tractor clean in two and then leave the pieces lying in the field?
It actually does seem like something from out of a comic book. The owner of the tractor probably saw this and just decided to leave the pieces where they lay. Sometimes there are more important things to do, and it's not like they could pick them up and move them.
Did I Do That?
While it's not exactly a tractor, we think this scoop vehicle is close enough. Yes, we know there's a better name for it. Anyway, this super scooper seems to have not been paying enough attention to where it was going, and it caused quite a bit of damage to that bridge.
Not only that, but we bet the scoopinizer also got itself good and stuck at the same time, which is probably why it's getting help from a couple of other vehicles to free itself. The person who was in charge of BIG SCOOP is in big trouble, too. How do you make up for that? Unpaid overtime?
Taking on Too Much
If you're unproven, small, or something like that, you might be looking for ways to show that you can be relied on. That you can be depended on. People can trust you with the big jobs, the important tasks. However, you might just not be prepared for whatever they assign to you.
This little tractor found out that it couldn't when it tried to haul a trailer that was a bit too weighty or a bit too large. It hasn't resulted in tragedy just yet, but it's pretty darn close. By now, we're experts in tractor tragedy, so we know where the line is.
I Think Something Fell Off
Remember, kids, if you're transporting a tractor, you can't just plop it on the back of a trailer, set the e-brake, and call it good. It doesn't work like that. That thing has to be locked down tighter than a bank vault, or something like this might happen.
Maybe they were trying to back it off the trailer, and they took a wrong turn, but one way or another, you have to be careful. Thankfully, it looks like nothing else was hit – nothing that we can see in the picture, at least. People are going to have to be careful to make sure that stays true, though.
Guys, Help, I Can't Get Down!
Riding your bike around as a kid, working out how to pop wheelies, and stuff like that are a ton of fun. It's still fun as an adult, but you have to be a little more careful. Otherwise, something like this can happen. This doesn't even seem to have been intentional – it looks like the tractor was hauling a trailer, and it got a little overbalanced.
Then it simply tipped back to smash into the trailer it was transporting. It looks like it might have lost a window, and the slope and quality of the ground let us know that this vehicle is good and stuck.
Pointed Straight Up
I'm heading to the stars, baby. Just like the rocket that's under me, and I'm off this planet. What's that? There's no rocket under me, which means there's no way for me to see our friendly blue marble from space. Then why am I tipped up on a mere two wheels? The manufacturer recommends four wheels.
Maybe three minimum, but two is right out. There are a number of reasons why the tractor has ended up in this position, and it shouldn't be too hard to get it back down onto the ground. The owners will have to apply pressure at the top and then jump to safety.
Danger on the Road
You'd think that something as big and tough as a tractor wouldn't have wheels flying off willy-nilly, but here we are. Just in case you still don't know, wheels spinning down the road can do a ton of damage no matter what they strike, and a tractor tire will double, triple, or quadruple that damage.
Since they're a lot bigger. If you see a wheel coming your way on the freeway, give it all the clearance you can. If you see a tractor tire, do whatever you can to get out of the way. If you own a tractor, don't let this happen.
Hey, I Think Your Tractor Is on Fire
We're gonna go ahead and guess that most tractors aren't designed to be actually on fire. Do firefighters ever use tractors? Maybe they use them to create a burn line to stop other forest fires. So... would that be ironic if one of them caught fire? We've lost track of things a little bit.
No, we don't think that this tractor should be on fire if we're being honest. Those guys hiding on the other side seem a little nonchalant about the entire situation, but maybe they're used to it. Maybe this is just something that happens every other day. Well... it shouldn't be.
I Need a Really, Really Big Tire Iron
There must have been some incredibly sharp rocks to have caused all this damage. Tractor tires are designed to take on almost any surface, from cement and asphalt to grass, mud, snow, and more. So we're left here wondering how a tractor wheel and tire could suffer such catastrophic damage.
Did someone leave a nail in the field? Maybe this was created for a movie or something like that. We bet the Incredible Hulk could haul a tractor around if he wanted. But this probably wasn't for a movie. Unfortunately, we're left stumped about what it could be since the photo shows us nothing but the damage.
I Think I Felt a Bump
Imagine driving a tractor-type vehicle. You're high up, able to see all your work from a bird's eye view. It's a low bird, but it's still a bit higher. The machine rumbles under you, and you feel such immense power. And, then, there's a terrible clunk, and suddenly you can't move.
That's a whole lot of ice water on a nice warm day. This looks like the kind of thing that results from some troublemakers sneaking in and loosening the bolts that are holding the wheel to the tractor, but we bet even that isn't very likely. These vehicles are powerful, and they put a lot of stress on some parts.
A Whole Lot to Take In
Let's break this image down piece by piece, from right to left. It looks like a forklift has fallen into a ditch – a place where it shouldn't be unless there's something in there to lift. But that's quite rare. A tractor was conscripted to pull it out, and it looks like such a tactic proved successful.
However, on the far left of the image, there is a tire shooting through the air. The tractor is, not coincidentally, also missing a tire. It shouldn't be that hard to figure out what's going wrong here, should it? Looks like you're going to need another tractor, fellas.
Just Come and Sit in the Front, It's Fine
So, why does this happen to so many tractors? Here's the skinny: Most tractors are rear-wheel drive. This one is, at least. All the power in the engine goes to the back wheels, while the front wheels are used to turn.
If a tractor is trying to haul too much, like this one, the wheels might still turn, but the load won't want to move. The wheels are still turning, though, so the tractor tilts backward. What can be done? Well, adding some weight to the front might work a little, but removing some from the back will be a lot more worth your time.
Does It Have Hydraulics?
This vehicle, which usually spends its days planting or harvesting or doing other important farming stuff, is, for some reason, reaching way up into the sky. We can't think of a reason why it would be doing this unless the device attached to the backside has dug into the ground quite a bit more than it appears in the picture.
On the other hand, maybe this is a Mondo tricked-out tractor that is able to pop its wheels so far up that it could practically climb stairs. It's daytime, so we can't see any undercarriage lights, but we still hope that they're there.
Poking You in the Back
The way a tractor works means that if it's loaded down too much – if it's trying to haul too much heavy stuff, the wheels will dig in, and the tractor will lift up, as we see here. Most of the time, the driver has to be a little careful getting the tractor back down to the ground before unloading or finding a way to keep moving.
This guy has an additional problem, though. With no cab to protect him from the sticks, he's probably got a good collection of splinters up and down his body, from the waist up to the top of his head.
Nose Down
You've felt like this before. You might not even know it, but you can empathize with this bit of construction machinery. You had to work extra; the highways were clogged and busy, so it took you a long time to get home.
You had to do your taxes, or wash the bathroom, or take care of the kids or something like that, and eventually, at the end of the day, you had nothing left in the tank. You crashed face-first onto the couch or the bed or even the middle of the floor that you just vacuumed. The rest of the work can wait until the next day.
