From culture shocks to outlandish antics, there is no shortage of drama between the show’s couples. But what happens when the cameras stop rolling? Let’s take a look at which couples went the distance and which hit a bump in the road.
Russ & Paola
Part of one of the first couples on "90 Day Fiancé," Paola arrived with a real “Pao.” The Colombian model/personal trainer quickly became a fan favorite with her tiny outfits and big personality — a complete contrast to her mild-mannered Mid-Western partner, Russ.
Despite some rough patches and many dramatic fights, the couple appears to be going strong. Fans have watched Russ come to terms with his wife’s modeling and most recently wrestling (seriously) career. The married couple gave birth to their first child in early 2019, and are now considering adopting a second child.
Danielle & Mohamed
Considered “one of the most glorious trainwrecks TLC ever put out” according to one YouTube user, Danielle and Mohamed’s relationship was one of the most memorable relationships featured on the franchise. Still in his 20s, Tunisian Mohamed found himself engaged to a middle-aged woman named Danielle who he met online.
After Mohamed found out about Danielle’s less-than-ideal financial situation, and she found out about his more-than-platonic relationships with other women, their marriage went down in flames. Surprisingly, Danielle has given reality tv love another try by joining the cast of "90 Day: The Single Life."
Alan & Kirlyam
"90 Day Fiancé" couple Alan and Kirlyam may have easily been one of the show’s most adorable couples. Fans loved learning about their heartwarming beginnings, meeting as teenagers when Alan was transferred to Kirlyam’s city in Brazil as a missionary. Seriously, try not to smile watching them!
In 2017, they gave birth to their first son and though the couple was briefly separated, they managed to remain close. They had another child in 2021, and fans around the world can’t wait for more updates on their adorable love story.
Mark & Nikki
They say that age is just a number, but let’s be honest, it’s a bit excessive to have almost four decades between you and your partner. Mark, from Maryland, apparently has a type — significantly younger women from the Philippines.
His wife Nikki was suspiciously from the same city as his first wife. Things got even weirder when Mark bought Nikki the same car as his ex-wife and even gave Nikki his ex’s clothing! Somehow, the two managed to make it through almost seven years of marriage before calling it quits in early 2022.
Jorge & Anfisa
Fans had to give Anfisa credit — when confronted about her ulterior motives for marrying American “businessman” Jorge, the Russian beauty simply replied that she was interested in Jorge’s money the way he was only interested in her for her looks.
Naturally, such a shallow interest in your partner is never a good way to start a relationship, and Anfisa and Jorge’s relationship was easily one of the show’s most toxic relationships. After a brief wedding ceremony at the courthouse, the couple went their separate ways after Jorge’s illegal “business” resulted in jail time.
Mike & Aziza
Mike and Aziza were one of "90 Day Fiancé’s" most divisive couples. Fans didn't know whether to be annoyed at Mike’s frequent passive-aggressive comments about how Aziza should behave, while some fans found Aziza to be bossy or even suggested that the Russian-born contestant was just using Mike.
Somehow, despite their issues, the couple has been able to maintain their relationship, even welcoming a child in 2019. Aziza frequently shows off her beautiful family on her Instagram, proving that they are happier than ever.
Nicole & Azan
It’s never a good sign when the first thing your partner says about you is “she’s big … a little bit”. This candid comment was the first of many from Moroccan Azan upon meeting his Floridian girlfriend Nicole. Nicole’s fuller figure became the source of many arguments, with Azan admitting he’s only “55 percent” attracted to her (we’re no math whizz but that sounds pretty harsh!).
In case that wasn’t enough, the couple’s obvious cultural and religious clashes led them to go their separate ways. At least we’ll always have that awkward memory of them riding camels!
Justin & Evelyn
"90 Day Fiancé" introduced viewers to international couple Evelyn and Justin. Justin, an American, met Evelyn at a rugby game in Colombia. Fans were shocked to see that the first time Evelyn met Justin’s family, he announced they were engaged (Justin’s family didn’t even know he was dating someone… awkward!).
After a particularly horrific encounter with Justin’s sister-in-law (seriously, what was her issue?), fans didn’t know what would happen. Thankfully, the two have proved everyone wrong with their marriage and welcomed a son in 2020.
Molly & Luis
Another example of people bringing their vacation-fling back home was the relationship between Molly from Georgia and her dashing Dominican partner, Luis. Molly invited the bartender to come to live with her in Georgia, much to her children’s disapproval.
Despite some obvious red flags (namely that Luis was closer in age to her daughter than her), the two decided to get married. To no one's surprise, Luis quickly made a run for it before returning. Half a year into their marriage, Molly filed for divorce.
Brett & Daya
Another divisive couple that had fans wondering if things would last was Brett and Daya. Brett, an American, met Daya, a native of the Philippines, on an international dating website. Things got off to a rocky start when there was obvious tension between Daya and Brett’s family.
Things got even more difficult when Brett was laid off. Thankfully, the two have been able to maintain their relationship! They got hitched and had a daughter in 2017.
Ashley & Jay
In a reality-show version of "How Stella Got Her Groove Back," Ashley fell in love with a handsome Jamaican man named Jay while on vacation. Although he was more than a decade younger, she knew she wanted to have Jay by her side. Despite rumors of disloyalty (and her best friend stopping short of physically shaking some sense into her), Ashley and Jay got married.
Sure enough, right after they returned from their wedding, Ashley discovered that he was on dating apps (what would Whoopi say?). Though they tried to work things out, they separated just two years later.
Danny & Amy
Unlike most of the couples who faced a variety of obstacles between them, Danny and Amy’s biggest challenge was dealing with Danny’s family. Danny’s father was not accepting of Amy which had us wanting to throw something at our television screens in anger.
Thankfully, Danny proved that his love was stronger than his family’s disapproval and the two lovebirds married in 2014. The two, who met at a Bible college in Australia, have bonded over their faith and love and are now parents to three (!) adorable children.
Colt & Larissa
We’re sure that when Brazilian Larissa pictured her life with her American boyfriend Colt, it didn’t include moving in with his mother and their three cats. It quickly became obvious that the most important woman in Colt's life was his mother.
The pair were in Las Vegas for just a few hours and the tensions already mounted as Larissa hated the city, Colt’s house, the weather, and basically everything. Their tumultuous relationship became one of the most volatile ones in the show’s history, resulting in the two finally divorcing just a year after getting married.
Lisa & Usman
It's never a good sign when you have to justify your relationship with a foreign man you met online to your friends. Though his friends had comments about Lisa’s “big belly”, and though Lisa had decades on her Nigerian rapper/singer boyfriend, the two seemed to be happy.
That happiness, however, was soon shattered when Lisa’s jealousy over Usman’s female “fans” and their cultural differences became too much. Eventually, their marriage ended. Apparently, Usman hasn’t given up on finding his dream American wife, he went back on the show with a new love interest, Kimberly.
Alexei & Loren
While some couples on "90 Day Fiancé" make you say “ugh” this couple had most people saying “aww.” Loren, an American, met her Israeli/Ukrainian beau on a trip to Israel. After falling in love, the two moved to the United States where they soon married.
Despite their cultural differences and a health scare, the two have been able to make it work. They are happily married and are proud parents to two boys. Fans admire how in love the two are, and they are considered one of the franchise’s most successful couples.
Jonathan & Fernanda
Another couple who thought they could bring their vacation vibes to the real world were Jonathan and Fernanda. Jonathan met the Mexican model while on vacation, and despite more than a decade between them, he quickly swept her off her feet and into his home state of North Carolina.
Unfortunately, their romantic bliss was quickly interrupted when Fernanda found some discarded female undergarments in his house and caught Jonathan dancing with another woman. The two ended up separating just months after marrying. Worse yet, Jonathan apparently tried to cancel her green card! Dude, move on!
Kyle & Noon
After meeting online while researching a trip to Thailand, American Kyle excitedly welcomed his Thai love to the United States in the third season of "90 Day Fiancé." From Bangkok to the Big Easy, Noon somehow managed to make it past homesickness and cultural differences while adjusting to life in New Orleans.
Fans enjoyed watching the obvious love the couple had for each other, watching as Noon helped her husband to patch things up with his late mother. Their love led to the two marrying in a Buddhist ceremony and a continued happy relationship.
Michael & Juliana
Michael and Juliana’s love story began like so many — a wealthy guy meets a stunning Brazilian model twenty years his junior while partying on a yacht off the coast of Croatia. Sounds like a recipe for a perfect and healthy relationship, right?
Once stateside, Juliana began putting large purchases on Michael’s credit cards. Things got even more awkward when even the immigration offices bluntly asked if Juliana was a “working girl” instead of a working model! After an uncomfortable and short marriage, the two called it quits and Juliana has moved on to another (presumably wealthier) man…
Devar & Melanie
Devar and Melanie of "90 Day Fiancé" prove that the saying “whatever happens on vacation, stays on vacation” isn’t always true and that sometimes it’s even a good thing! Melanie, a Pennsylvania native, met Devar while on vacation in Jamaica.
Even though the couple went through their ups and downs, including Devar’s drinking issues and job change, they seem to have made it work and got married. The couple welcomed a daughter named Avah in 2017 and Devar has become a step-father to Melanie’s son, Hunter.
Tania & Syngin
Connecticut native Tania never expected that her casual fling with a South African bartender named Syngin would change her life. After meeting on a trip, Tania ended up staying with him in his home country for several months. Eventually, they went back to New England.
While things seemed good at first, their personality differences and different plans for the future caused tension. Those issues were made worse by Syngin’s drinking (not helped by the fact that he spent most of his time working in a bar). After a brief and tumultuous marriage, the two divorced.
Josh & Aleksandra
American Josh met his Russian partner Aleksandra in Prague, Czech Republic where she was studying. Though they came from vastly different backgrounds (Josh is a Mormon, and Aleksandra is a former go-go dancer), the couple overcame their differences and managed to find their happily ever after.
Fans instantly fell in love with the young couple and their puppy-dog-like love story, including how Josh had to wait until his mission was over before they could even date (imagine how hard that must have been!). The two married in 2015 and have welcomed two children.
Mike & Natalie
Mike and Natalie’s love story actually began in a wholesome way — they were each appointed the godparents of a mutual friend’s baby. Their friendship led to Mike going to Ukraine to meet Natalie. Sparks flew between the couple and Mike proposed to Natalie and invited her to live with him in Washington.
Things quickly changed when Natalie said Mike’s house resembled a house from a “horror movie” and that he was “low class” — which honestly, given some of his behavior, we don’t entirely fault her for! Their negative relationship quickly ended after just one year.
Louis & Aya
Few people had high hopes for the relationship between Philippines-native Aya and Indiana-native Louis. Like many international couples, the two met online and got engaged a week after meeting (it takes us longer to decide on a coffee order!).
Despite having to dodge drama at every corner — from CIA-level interrogations by ex-wives to financial problems — the couple somehow managed to make it work. They got married and welcomed a baby boy in 2018. Two years later, the happy couple welcomed their second child.
Narkyia Lathan & Olulowo Shodipe
After meeting on an online dating website, American Narkyia Lathan wanted to meet Nigerian Olulowo Shodipe in person. Her family (and fans) immediately became suspicious of the man after it emerged that he was lying about several things including his ex being dead (seriously!).
After a serious fight involving the decidedly NOT dead ex, the couple went their separate ways. Fortunately, the two later rekindled their relationship, getting married and welcoming a daughter in 2020. While fans are happy to see the reality stars back together, they hope that Olulowo leaves the lies in the past.
Andrew & Amira
Without international dating websites, we’re pretty certain that California-native Andrew would have never met his stunning French girlfriend Amira. From a small village in the French wine country to California, Amira came to visit Andrew where he soon proposed to her.
Things got "compliquée" when travel restrictions prevented the two from physically being able to meet up together. Logistics aside, the two’s cultural differences and plans for their future seemed to be just as far away as their physical location. Ultimately, Amira decided to say "au revoir" to Andrew by choosing to stay in France.
Matt & Alla
It seems bad things come in threes, at least we think that was the case for "90 Day Fiancé" star Matt. The Kentucky native had been married three times before settling down with his Ukrainian love, Alla.
Fans worried that their cultural differences and Matt’s trauma from previous relationships would hinder the couple. Things between the pair were also complicated because Alla already had a son from a previous marriage. Against the odds, the pair married and are now the parents of two children.
Stephanie & Ryan
After watching multiple seasons of "90 Day Fiancé", it can be hard to be shocked by the show’s crazy storylines. But just when we thought we had seen it all, we met Stephanie and Ryan. Stephanie, a middle-aged American, met 27-year-old Ryan while on vacation in Belize. Their fling ended when she discovered that Ryan was talking to other women.
Somehow, Stephanie decided that the next logical thing was to begin an intimate relationship with Ryan’s cousin, Harris. (Really? Of all the men in Belize?) After their breakup, she continued to keep things “in the family” with Harris!
Patrick & Myriam
American DJ Patrick apparently didn’t know about the alleged “friend zone” when he decided to travel to Paris to meet his online crush, Myriam. It seems, apparently, that the “friend zone” stretches from the United States to Europe because as soon as he landed it was clear that Myriam didn’t have any real interest in him.
To make matters worse, it seemed that Myriam already had a boyfriend (l'horreur!). Though they tried to work things out, viewers were quick to distrust Myriam and who could blame them? Though the two supposedly remained friends, fans don’t see the point.
Pedro & Chantel
Bringing the fire (and the drama) to season four were the “love to hate them” couple, Pedro and Chantel. Chantel, an American, met Pedro on a trip to his native Dominican Republic. Chantel was immediately enamored with her Latin lover and quickly began the process to bring him to the United States.
Though their relationship was the source of a lot of tension in her family (remember the infamous “chicken feet” episode?), they’ve somehow managed to make it work and even got their own spinoff show, "The Family Chantel!"
Jesse & Darcey
If we had to choose one word to describe the relationship between Jesse and Darcey, we’d use the word, “toxic.” Darcey, an American, decided to try her luck on an international dating app. There, she met Amsterdam-based hunk Jesse. Despite Jesse being in his early 20s, Darcey decided to travel to the Netherlands to meet him in person.
After meeting his eccentric parents who looked like extras from "The Fifth Element," their relationship soon became extremely volatile and full of nuclear-level fights. They (thankfully) finally called it quits, but continued to date other cast members within the franchise.
Andrei & Elizabeth
While Andrei and Elizabeth got off to a rough start (remember Elizabeth’s brother not knowing that Moldova was a country?), these two proved that sometimes opposites do attract.
Elizabeth met her Moldovian match in Dublin, where he worked as a bouncer (seriously that guy has muscles on his muscles). Despite his towering frame, and his habit of getting into fights with her family members (both emotional and physical), the two tied the knot. Though their families were basically at war with one another throughout their relationship, the two are now the parents of a daughter.
Aladin & Laura
With more than two decades between them, Laura still decided to leave everything behind to meet up with her Tunisian boyfriend Aladin in Qatar. Fans couldn’t decide what was more cringe-worthy, their stark age difference or Laura referring to their intimate time as “jiggy jiggy.”
Despite protests from the closest people to her, Laura continued pursuing Aladin, eventually marrying the young personal trainer. However, to no one’s surprise, their marriage ended after only one year. Not one to rest on her laurels, Laura is back on the hunt and reportedly dating an even younger guy!
David & Annie
Who says the best things in life are free? Apparently, true love has a cost. David was forced to provide his Thai bride Annie’s family with a pricey dowry — thousands of Thai baht and two water buffalos (seriously!), an expense he could barely afford.
Viewers cringed when a frustrated Annie yelled “you’re 48 and still don’t have anything!” which while harsh, was true. Somehow the couple was able to make it through David’s financial issues. They stuck through it and fans watched happily as David found a job and the two started a home together.
Deavan & Jihoon
Though Utah-native Deavan was only looking for a friend on an international dating site (sure…) she quickly fell for South Korean cutie Jihoon. After Deavan became pregnant, she moved to South Korea to be with Jihoon. There, she learned that he wasn’t being honest about his financial situation or life.
His lies and Deavan’s inability to adjust to life in South Korea eventually resulted in Deavan leaving Jihoon. After a tumultuous breakup, fans will be relieved to know that Deavan has since moved on to a new man named Topher Park and the two are expecting a baby.
Josh & Aika
It seems that the third time's the charm, or at least it was for Josh Batterson. After meeting online, the Arizona native decided to marry his third wife, a woman from the Philippines named Aika.
Fans didn't have high hopes for the couple after Josh made some rude comments about Aika’s revealing clothes and dreams of becoming a “car model” at car shows (because, why not?). The show ended with the couple tying the knot in Las Vegas and the two seem happy judging by their social media.
Paul & Karine
Many viewers thought that the most important thing Paul brought with him to meet Brazilian love Karine was the multiple suitcases full of protective gear and insect-repellent, but the real MVP was his English to Portuguese translation app.
After a rough couple of years, two children, and countless hours of back-and-forth conversations on their trusty translation app, the two finally decided to separate. Since their separation, Karine has debuted a new look on social media, and fans hope that she will find success on her own now.
Kalani & Asuelu
After enjoying a romance with an employee named Asuelu at a resort on the island of Samoa, Kalani left with an extra special souvenir: she was pregnant. Unfortunately, the relationship between the two just continued to get worse from there.
Every time the couple appeared on the screen, fans wanted to grab the popcorn because they knew they would be in for a show. Between issues with Asuelu’s family, and their financial issues, fans didn’t think the couple would last. After two children, the married couple has managed to make it through but fans aren’t holding their breath…
Brittany & Yazan
Brittany and Yazan met in a pretty romantic way — she saw him when she was over at his sister’s house and they were video chatting. Instantly attracted, Brittany packed up her bags and flew to Jordan from Florida to meet him. Immediately upon landing, the couple had their first of many fights after Yazan found Brittany’s adult beverages.
The obvious cultural and religious differences between them caused huge arguments. After a dramatic separation, both have moved on and Yazan is reportedly expecting a child with his new wife, who is also Jordanian.
Emily & Alexander 'Sasha'
Emily met her Russian romantic interest when she moved to Russia to teach English. After meeting in a gym, American Emily developed a relationship with a personal trainer named Sasha. After the dramatic birth of their child in Russia, and an awkward meeting with his ex-wife, the couple moved back to Emily’s home state of Oregon.
Fans cringed as Sasha tried American cereal for the first time and made some obnoxious comments about Emily’s sister’s weight (seriously, c’mon!). Somehow, the couple is still together, with Emily posting pictures on her Instagram of the couple and their son.
Anna & Mursel
It seems that being able to communicate isn’t the most important thing, at least not for Anna and her Turkish fiancé Mursel. After meeting on social media, and despite them not speaking the same language, the two began a romantic relationship.
Mursel proposed to Anna four months after she went to visit him and fans were nervous about the couple’s future when in addition to the language barrier, Mursel wasn’t comfortable with Anna’s children from a past relationship. After Mursel returned to Turkey, the couple decided to rekindle their relationship and recently welcomed a child.
Ricky & Ximena
When viewers saw Ricky visiting Colombia only to be rejected by his online “girlfriend” Melissa, they felt bad for the Ohio-native. This sympathy quickly faded when it emerged that Ricky was actually talking to another woman (who turned out to be Ximena) at the same time!
He immediately moved on to Ximena, even proposing to her with the ring intended for Melissa. The drama got juicier when Ximena found out, but still accepted the proposal. Unfortunately, Ricky broke her heart again when he got back with his ex-wife. Today, Ricky is single once again. Perhaps someone should warn the women of Colombia?
Robert & Anny
Proving that you know a good thing when you see it, Robert proposed to his Dominican sweetheart after just eight hours (we’ve spent more time doing laundry!). Fans loved how smitten Robert was with Anny and how he just wanted her to be his “queen”, awww!
But before their fairytale love story could continue, the two faced several obstacles including financial issues and tensions between Robert’s family and his new woman. Despite the challenges, the couple managed to get married and are now the parents of two children.
Timothy & Jeniffer
Things got off to a strange start when Timothy’s ex threw him a going-away party before he left for Colombia to meet his online girlfriend, model Jeniffer. Even stranger was the fact that the ex-wife arrived at the party wearing a see-through shirt and lingerie.
After arriving in Colombia, he and Jeniffer had little physical chemistry and apparently didn’t consummate their relationship. They did, however, apply eye masks on each other! After that awkward meeting, Timothy announced that he was no longer with Jeniffer and was giving his ex a second chance.
Blake & Jasmin
Despite traveling to a cold country, Los Angeles-native Blake found himself in a hot romance with Finnish girlfriend Jasmin. After multiple trips to Jasmin’s home country, Blake proposed. The social media-obsessed couple’s romantic bliss was soon interrupted by Blake’s conservative family and friends who didn’t want the couple to be living together if they were not married.
They also thought it was suspiciously convenient that Jasmin’s sister also lived in Los Angeles, Blake’s hometown. After some tension, the couple said “I do” in 2019. Judging by their many lovey-dovey social media posts, they seem stronger than ever.
Caesar & Maria
Meeting someone online always comes with the possibility that the person you’re chatting to doesn’t really exist. Caesar, a nail technician from North Carolina, had been sending his Ukrainian “girlfriend” thousands of dollars over the years, despite having never met the attractive blonde.
Viewers soon learned that Maria was actually real and wasn’t into Caesar romantically (though she had no problem accepting his money!). In an interview, Maria explained how she “dated” foreigners in order to pay for her lifestyle. Fans hope that Caesar finds a woman who will really like him for him, and not his money.
Angela & Michael
Despite Michael mentioning that “her stature is kinda bigger than I expected and she looks older than the pictures” (ouch!), Angela and Michael provided fans of "90 Day Fiancé," one of the most entertaining couples on the show.
Their antics included everything from explosive arguments and accusations of Michael taking financial advantage of her, to Angela freaking out about cooking a traditional Nigerian meal. Yet despite all of this, the two somehow have managed to make it work and make it down the aisle.
Brandon & Julia
Before Brandon met Julia, his parents were so worried about his dating prospects that they actually put him on a dating site for farmers (apparently there’s a dating site for all types of people). Thankfully, farmer Brandon was introduced to Julia through a mutual friend.
After video chatting with the Russian go-go dancer, Brandon said she “looks like my future wife”. While it wasn’t the smoothest line, it worked and Julia came to live on his family’s farm in rural Virginia. Though there was some tension between the dancer and Brandon’s conservative family, the two seem happily married.
David & Lana
We have to hand it to American computer programmer David’s persistence. Despite flying to Ukraine four times and getting rejected each time, he flew back once more in order to meet his Ukrainian girlfriend, Lana. After finally meeting in person, David learned that Lana was still on dating websites — making him unsure about the direction of their relationship.
Though she accepted David’s proposal at the end of the season, their engagement soon ended. In 2021 Lana accused the network of falsifying storylines and said that the engagement was just a storyline. Ouch, so much for true love!
Jovi & Yara
Louisiana-bred Jovi met his Ukrainian love Yara when he was traveling for work. Though Jovi thought he would be having a “2-day fling” with Yara, their relationship lasted a lot longer! The boy from the bayou was soon dealt another challenge when he discovered that Yara was pregnant after their tryst.
Yara eventually arrived in the United States, where the two found a home in New Orleans and got married. After a few bumps in the road (mostly because of Jovi’s irresponsible and often immature nature) the two have welcomed a daughter and are still together.
Darcey & Tom
When it comes to love, some people never learn their lesson. Though, to be fair, if people really did learn from their mistakes, reality television would be a bit boring. Even after enduring one of the worst public breakups with ex-boyfriend Jesse on a previous season of "90 Day Fiancé," Darcey was ready to get back into the international dating ring with British boyfriend Tom.
Unfortunately, Darcey later found out that Tom had met another woman. Not only did he not apologize for doing things behind her back, he even took a dig at her appearance! Ugh, good riddance!
Rebecca & Zied
In what was probably one of the most uncomfortable scenes on "90 Day Fiancé," Georgia-native Rebecca not only took her daughter lingerie shopping with her (!) but also divulged her plans to be intimate with her Tunisian boyfriend Zied — a man almost half her age!
Things got even more awkward when it emerged that Zied wasn’t the first young North African man that Rebecca dated, and that she was technically married when they met (yikes!). Despite their many cultural differences and other relationship red flags, the two got married in 2020. As of now, they are still married.
Eveylin & David
Eveylin met David when he messaged her on social media. Not just a fan of her music, the two also bonded over their shared religious beliefs. In typical teenage fashion, the 18-year-old ignored concern that she was jumping into marriage too quickly with the Spaniard.
Just as everyone had predicted, she and David soon had problems in their relationship. After more than four years of marriage, the two separated. Though David was tight-lipped about why the two split, it seems like they're better off not being married.
Tarik & Hazel
There’s no shortage of complicated relationships on "90 Day Fiancé," but that threshold of craziness was pushed even further when fans of the show were introduced to Tarik and his girlfriend from the Philippines, Hazel. After taking their online relationship to the next level, things got messy.
Tarik’s brother didn’t approve of Hazel and Hazel’s sister didn’t approve of Tarik. In case that wasn’t enough, Hazel revealed that she previously dated women and wanted to add a woman to their relationship. Despite their many fights (and need for a bigger bed) the couple seems to be doing well.
Erika & Stephanie
Stephanie and Erika may have made "90 Day Fiancé" history as being the franchise’s first queer couple, but it seems that there was nothing unique about their relationship issues. Stephanie met her wild-child Australian girlfriend Erika online.
After arriving in Australia to meet Erika, Stephanie immediately realized that her dream girl was more of a nightmare. From Erika’s partying to Stephanie not wanting to be intimate despite Erika thinking they had a romantic relationship, the trip was a disaster. Ultimately, the two decided to go their own ways with Stephanie returning to the United States.
Larry & Jenny
Fans were wondering if Larry was colorblind because he seemed to miss almost every red flag when it came to his girlfriend from the Philippines, Jenny. After meeting online, the couple decided to get married. Their plans were interrupted when it emerged that she was still active on Filipino dating sites (um…what?) and talking to “hundreds” of other men!
After writing it off as a computer glitch, the two somehow managed to stay together and have actually become one of the most genuine couples on the show. Today, the couple has relocated to Texas and is still married.
Hamza & Memphis
There are many unforgettable moments on "90 Day Fiancé," but one, involving Memphis and Tunisian boyfriend Hamza video chatting, has been burned into the minds of fans for life (unfortunately). Fans cringed as Memphis, wearing a shower cap and not much else, attempted to be seductive in the hilariously weird call.
It turns out, however, that steamy shower sessions weren’t enough to keep their relationship alive. Unable to speak the same language, and without much in common except for their child, their relationship was doomed. Though the couple tried to make it work, they separated.
Jon & Rachel
You never know what will connect two people, sometimes it can even be a shared love of… karaoke apps? But hey, no judgment. Rachel met her British beau on a karaoke app and it wasn’t long before this singing duo was making sweet music together.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t long before their relationship hit a sour note — Jon couldn't get a visitors visa due to his criminal record. Somehow the pair have made it work despite Jon remaining across the pond. The two are still married and are in a long-distance relationship.
Jason & Cassia
Like many of the participants on "90 Day Fiancé," Jason met his Brazilian love online. Strangely, it turned out that Cassia had also dated a friend of Jason. But that wasn’t the only hiccup in their relationship. When Cassia arrived from Brazil she was shocked to find out that David lived with his father, not exactly the dream life she envisioned.
The couple ended up divorcing twice, after trying to give it another try. After a dramatic altercation, Cassia left David for the last time and remarried.
Benjamin & Akinyi
Viewers initially didn’t have much hope for the relationship between Benjamin and his Kenyan partner Akinyi. After traveling to Africa, Benjamin hardly made a splash with Akinyi’s family — especially when he made the ultimate Kenyan faux pas by not bringing a present and not presenting a bull for Akinyi’s dowry (really).
Soon, fans, and Akinyi, were slowly won over by Benjamin and his goofy but sweet-natured personality. Despite the cultural differences, the couple has managed to stay together. They got married in 2021 and even welcomed an adorable son.
Avery & Omar
Avery, an American who recently converted to Islam, met Omar on a Muslim dating site. After marrying, the two moved to Dubai where they could live together since Omar, being from Syria, was denied a visa to the United States.
Luckily, after a couple of years, Omar was able to move to the U.S. where he now works as a dentist. The two have surprised fans and defied the odds to become one of the franchises' most successful couples.
Tiffany & Ronald
Some "90 Day Fiancé" participants make viewers wish they could physically shake some sense into them. One such couple was Tiffany and her South African partner Ronald — who Tiffany met while vacationing in South Africa. Viewers instantly didn’t like Ronald after he alluded that he would “force” Tiffany and the kids to stay in South Africa.
Things got stranger when it was revealed that Ronald’s extensive criminal record would potentially bar him from getting a visa to the US (girl, run!). After a separation, and Ronald dating someone new, the couple has gotten back together… for now.
Geoffrey & Varya
There are some couples that you cheer on and hope will last, and there are some couples that you can’t believe are still together! Geoffrey and Russian DJ Varya seemed like the perfect couple…until the truth came out. It emerged that Geoffrey had an extensive criminal past...yikes!
Oh, and he lied about having kids! Geoffrey’s past had recently come back to haunt him when he was arrested for a prior crime and given an 18-year-sentence. As of now, the engaged couple is still together (even though Geoffrey is behind bars).
Mike & Ximena
When viewers first met Mike and heard his story about meeting his Colombian flame Ximena online, they were happy for the seemingly kind man who hadn’t had much experience dating. However, that hope for a healthy relationship was quickly dashed when Ximena gave viewers a tour of her apartment, revealing that most of its contents were purchased by Mike.
Things got worse when Mike traveled to Colombia to visit Ximena and it was obvious that Ximena had absolutely no interest in him (poor guy!). As of now, fans aren’t sure what exactly the pair’s relationship status is.
Kim & Usman
Fans were initially shocked at the pairing between California-native Kimberly and Usman, a Nigerian singer/rapper almost 20 years her junior. Viewers don’t trust the rapper, especially after his shady behavior on the set of his music video and his flirty behavior with fans.
Viewers may also remember Usman from prior seasons where he married Lisa — another older American woman (We guess he has a type?). Somehow the two have been able to make it through, despite the suspicions of the people around them. Kimberly recently uploaded an adorable picture of the two on her Instagram.
Alina & Caleb
When fans first met Caleb, they were willing to overlook his man-bun, fascination with tarot cards, and his awkward comments about “getting around a lot” because his story about meeting Russian love Alina was so adorable. After meeting online as teens, the two decided to meet in person.
Fans loved how Caleb accepted Alina, despite not being able-bodied. Unfortunately, despite their “tabasco-level” kisses, their relationship took a dark turn when it emerged that Alina was still with her ex when she was talking to Caleb. Their relationship quickly faded and fans didn’t think Caleb was that into Alina.
Gino & Jasmine
If you look up “hot mess” you may just come across a picture of Gino and Jasmine. Michigan-native Gino met his Panamanian paramour online. The seemingly mismatched couple seemed okay, but things quickly went downhill. Between Jasmine’s fiery temper and Gino’s weird behavior (who sends intimate photos of their current girlfriend to their ex?), fans didn’t think their relationship would last.
But somehow, the pair have become one of the franchise's “love to hate” couples. While Jasmine is still in Panama awaiting her K-1 visa, the two are still crazy in love (emphasis on the crazy part).
Ash & Avery
Who said posting pictures of food on social media is pointless? It turns out these pics can help you meet your soulmate. Avery wasn’t expecting to meet her future boyfriend when a Mauritian “relationship coach” dropped a comment on her picture of a salad.
The two began dating and Avery traveled all the way to Australia (where Ash is living) to meet in person. Despite their steamy encounter, the cracks in their relationship began to appear and the couple broke up. Today, Ash has moved on to a new girlfriend with whom he is expecting a new baby.
Ella & Johnny
If you thought things were bad between Ella and Johnny when she referred to him as her “Asian prince”, then things were going to get a lot worse and cringe-inducing for the couple. Ella met her Chinese boyfriend on a website specifically for American women who want to meet Asian men.
Unfortunately, their plan to meet up in person never worked out because Ella suddenly got cold feet. Oh, and did we mention that she was seeing someone else without Johnny knowing? Somehow, the couple has apparently made amends and is still together (yeah, we’re confused too!).
Ben & Mahogany
As soon as Ben began talking about his new online Peruvian girlfriend with the sentence “despite the 28-year age difference…'' fans knew this new couple was going to bring the drama. And drama is what they brought.
Things got weird when Ben admitted to having been catfished in the past and Mahogany being evasive when it came to video chat (a major red flag). Apparently, the couple that lies together stays together because after finally meeting in person, they’ve been able to make it past the various examples of toxic relationship behavior and lies.
Ed & Rose
Viewers first met “Big Ed,” the man who launched countless memes, when he was getting ready to travel to the Philippines to meet his online girlfriend, Rose. After arriving, Rose and Ed provided viewers with some of the most cringe-worthy moments of the franchise.
Who can forget Ed telling Rose that her breath was “not pretty” and a towel-clad Ed encountering a mangy rat in Rose’s outdoor shower? While the official story was that they split because Rose wanted children and Ed didn't, we think it was his gift of a bottle of mouthwash that really did it.
Steven & Olga
One couple that had fans really divided was Olga and Steven. Maryland native Steven met Russian bombshell Olga while she was hanging out on the beach where Steven worked. Though the two were very young (just 20), their summer fling resulted in Olga getting pregnant.
Though the couple faced cultural issues and issues with their personalities, somehow they ended up getting married. Steven’s angry outburst and narcissism have left many fans with a bad taste in their mouths. Though the couple split for a short time, they recently got back together and are now expecting another child.
Biniyam & Ari
Sometimes the stars simply align when it comes to finding your significant other. It just happened one night that Ari, an American divorcée with a serious case of wanderlust met Ethiopian dancer/MMA fighter Biniyam while waiting for a taxi.
Their love affair soon resulted in Ari getting pregnant and giving birth to a baby boy named Avi. Ari decided to leave her home in New Jersey to live in Ethiopia with Biniyam and the baby. After a major cultural shock and difference in lifestyle, the two have since relocated to New Jersey according to social media.
Eric & Leida
Every reality television show needs a villain and fans didn’t have to look too far before they considered Leida and Eric to be the franchise's worst participants. Like most who appear on the show, Eric met his Indonesian girlfriend on an international dating site.
Fans already had a bad feeling when Leida mentioned having worked as a model and clinician, and that she came from a wealthy family. Leida immediately clashed with Eric’s lifestyle and his teenage daughter Tasha. Things got so bad that Leida forced Eric to make Tasha move out while she filed a restraining order against the teenager!
Kenny & Armando
While some stories featured on "90 Day Fiancé" make us want to stay single forever, the story of Kenny and Armando meeting is just heart-warming. Armando met his American love interest online, and the two soon met up in person. Unfortunately, Armando initially dealt with some offensive and hurtful attitudes towards his same-gender relationship as well as clashes with Kenny on various issues.
Thankfully, the two resolved their issues and were even joined by Armando’s family during their beautiful tears-of-joy-inducing wedding ceremony. Their healthy and love-filled relationship has instantly made this couple a fan favorite.
Sumit & Jenny
Getting catfished by an international love interest is unfortunately all too common. Jenny, a 60-year-old American woman, thought she had been chatting with a handsome British man. Soon, however, the truth emerged — she was actually chatting to an Indian man named Sumit.
After meeting over video chat, they surprisingly hit it off and Jenny went to India to meet him. In addition to major cultural issues and his family’s comments about her age, another major obstacle emerged — Sumit was still married! Somehow the two got past their “obstacles” and tied the knot in a traditional ceremony.
Corey & Evelin
Backpacking-bro Corey met his Ecuadorian love Evelin when she came up to the young American at the beach. Though Corey compared their meeting to something out of the movie, the couple’s relationship soon became more like a horror movie after some particularly awful moments.
Evelin's family seemed to dislike Corey. They especially enjoyed putting him in uncomfortable situations like making him eat grubs and even a soup made from unmentionable animal parts. Somehow the couple is in talks to launch their own spin-off of the franchise. Let’s just hope it doesn’t include any more strange soup.
Ed & Kaory
Big Ed, the charismatic "90 Day Fiancé" participant jumped back into the international dating pool more than once on reality TV. This time, it was with a Mexican woman named Kaory.
Though things seemed promising, Ed’s pressure to get married rubbed Kaory the wrong way and she ended up putting an end to their fledgling relationship. Thankfully, when one door closes another reopens, because it seems like Ed is giving it one more shot with his ex-girlfriend, Liz. The two recently got engaged and fans can’t wait to hear about this new chapter in his life.
