Fill a bucket with warm water and add a few drops of dishwashing soap to thoroughly clean your wood or faux wood blinds. Following that, gather a microfiber cloth or, in a pinch, a clean sock. Wipe each slat clean by lightly dipping the fabric in sudsy water (or by slipping the sock over your hand and dipping). A tiny bit of plain water or furniture polish put directly to the cloth or sock for natural wood blinds would suffice.

Avoid saturating the wood since this will cause the coating to deteriorate. To finish the task, completely dry the material, irrespective of whether it is wood or imitation wood. Fill a bathtub halfway with warm, soapy water and soak the blinds for a few minutes in the solution. Following that, run a sponge over each slat.
